Kmart #3416 - Lancaster, PA

Kmart #3416, located at 2090 Lincoln Hwy E (1 East Towne Mall) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania originally opened as a Grant City. It became Kmart in February 1977. Kmart closed in May 2015, becoming Gabe's within that same year. In 2018, Gabe's was downsized, adding A. C. Moore to the right side. (and we all know what happened to A. C. Moore). The auto center has been occupied by Automotive Masters since the mid-2000s.

Last Sears in Michigan to close this summer

Sears in Westland, Michigan is closing in August.

And then there were two...

Sears in Media, PA will close sometime in August, leaving two Sears in Pennsylvania, in Harrisburg and Willow Grove.

Kmart #3364 - Reading, PA (Exeter Township)

Kmart #3364, located at 4365 Perkiomen Ave in Reading, Pennsylvania opened on May 19, 1977, as the third Kmart to open in Berks County. It relocated to the Shelbourne Square shopping center in 1993, in a space that was formerly Ames, although the Shelbourne store closed less than 10 years later, in 2002. The original store (featured here) is now a Boscov's Outlet Center, and Kmart's facade is still in place to this date. The store at Shelbourne Square has been The Home Depot since 2003.

Another two bite the dust...

South Lake Tahoe, California

• Closing in August
• SLT is currently the oldest operating Kmart store
• This closing will leave Marshall, Michigan as the last remaining "Big Kmart"

Freedom, California

• Closing in August
• Freedom is the last Kmart with a walk-up pharmacy (the second-to-last was in Walnutport, Pennsylvania, it closed in August 2020)

Following these closures, the Kmart in Grass Valley, California will be the last Kmart in all of California.

Sears #1484 - Reading, PA

Sears #1484, located at 1665 State Hill Road in Reading (Wyomissing), Pennsylvania opened in 1968 as part of the Berkshire Mall and as a relocation of the Shillington store, which opened in 1956. Its exterior is extremely interesting, not looking like any other Sears stores. It was announced for closure in November 2018 and closed in February 2019. The store was occupied by Spirit Halloween in Fall 2019, although no permanent plans for the building have been made to this date.

The interesting part about this store is the auto center, which still sports almost all signage.
