KMART #3158 Opened: 1974 Closed: 2014 Address: 515 N. DuPont Hwy Exterior: 1970s V2 Interior (at time of closure): "Big Kmart" Photographed: July 2021 Dover's Kmart, at 515 N. DuPont Highway, opened on August 22, 1974, as the first of two Kmart stores in Southern Delaware (the second, in Rehoboth Beach , didn't arrive until 1995). In April 2014, it was confirmed that this store would be closing, becoming the second Delawarean Kmart store to close (following the Prices Corner store which closed in 2003). Just under 40 years after it opened, Dover's Kmart closed in July 2014 and was replaced by Burlington and Big Lots in 2016.
