Kmart Forever

Sears #1304, located at 11255 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland opened in Early 1966 as a standalone store, not located in a shopping mall. The store featured a lot of unique features, including a Key Making center and a mini Tuxedo shop. The store was once two floors (until early 2020, at which point the second floor was cordoned off). The store's loading docks are actually under the store, and there is a "tunnel" behind the store, leading under it where the store receives its inventory. With all this considered, the store is approximately 350,000 sq. feet, the size of 2 Super Kmart Centers. The store's auto center. Kmart #4399, located at 14014 Connecticut Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland opened in November 1972. It performed very well and became the last Kmart in Maryland after the Edgewater store closed In August 2020. This store's closure was confirmed via its Facebook page on January 28, 2021, and will close in April 2021. While there was a sign saying there was a "Call for service" button, there was not one.
