DuPont Highway, opened on August 22, 1974, as the first of two Kmart stores in Southern Delaware (the second, in Rehoboth Beach , didn't arrive until 1995). In April 2014, it was confirmed that this store would be closing, becoming the second Delawarean Kmart store to close (following the Prices Corner store which closed in 2003). Just under 40 years after it opened, Dover's Kmart closed in July 2014 and was replaced by Burlington and Big Lots in 2016. SEARS #2654 Opened:  1982 Closed: 2018 Address:   1000 Dover Mall Photographed:  July 2021 Sears at the Dover Mall (1365 N Dupont Hwy) in Dover, Delaware opened in 1982 as one of the one-story mall's original anchors. It was announced for closure in May 2018, closing for the final time in August of that same year. It later served as a Spirit Halloween store in Fall 2021.
