Kmart #9780 - Shrewsbury, PA

Kmart #9780, located at 98 Forrest Ave in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania opened on November 10, 1983. It was an extremely small store, only about 58,000 square feet. So it's no surprise that when wally-world opened a store right behind it in 1997 or 1998, it closed in 2000 due to poor sales. Another issue may have been the fact that the store was on a hill, and wasn't visible to people passing by on East Forrest Avenue. The building has been occupied by Grace Fellowship Church since 2012. 

First look at the store. The building has been left mostly unaltered since Kmart's exit in 2000.

Former Giant Food Store - Shrewsbury, PA

An older Giant that opened with the center in 1983. Relocated to 14635 Mount Airy Road in 2003. It still sits vacant, so I figured I'd post my photos of it as well, as it's just a few doors down from the former Kmart.
