So back in the early 2010s, Sears wanted to replace all their closing full-line stores with smaller-format Hometown, Home Appliance Showroom, Outlet, etc. stores. One of these places where Sears did this was Pottstown where the closing Sears #2484 at Coventry Mall closed in 2012. In April 2013, a smaller Sears Home Appliance Showroom opened up the street. The Home Appliance Showroom lasted for barely five years, closing on April 23, 2018.

The part of the building that is now becoming Stowe Medical Group is where the Sears Home Appliance Showroom once was.

Kmart #3810 closed on April 18, 2021; and on April 18, 2022, I documented the abandoned store. It will become an Ocean State Job Lot later this year, which will be the first OSJL in Lancaster County.

I still can't believe it's already been a year.........

Sears #2254, the replacement for original store #5824 in downtown Lebanon, opened in February 1966 as part of the then-enclosed Lebanon Plaza Mall. Despite the mall being converted to a power center later on, Sears continued to operate here until January 2015, when it closed. It sat vacant for just over two years until Ulta Beauty and Maurices opened in part of the former store. In June 2018, Harbor Freight tools opened in the remaining portion of the building.

The last Sears in Pennsylvania. Is closed. First opened in 1987, replacing B. Altman at the Willow Grove Park Mall, Sears' Willow Grove store outlived the other two stores to make it through 2020 (Media & Harrisburg). Likely due to dismal 2021 Christmas sales, in January 2022, this store made its way onto the chopping block, and closed on March 6, 2022.

In 2016, this was one of several Sears stores to lease some of its space to Irish-based discount clothing store Primark. Formerly a three-level store, Sears #1354 was down to just one level in its final years.

This was the last operating Kmart in Montgomery County, like the Willow Grove Sears (which was actually the last in all of Pennsylvania). Kmart #3117 opened on March 21, 1974, predating the surrounding properties and buildings by several years. It was, however, announced for closure in 2017, closing in November of that year. In 2019, At Home opened in the space vacated by Kmart.

One of just four non-liquidating Kmarts left on the Mainland United States, Kmart #3438 in Avenel, New Jersey, opened on October 17, 1979, making it the second-oldest currently-operating store (behind Miami, Florida). As of 1/29/22, this store is one of two operating locations in New Jersey.
